More European adventures for Myerscough basketballers

A third season in the European Youth Basketball League saw Myerscough face teams from Slovakia, Czech Republic and Italy in the SuperFinal.

In another unforgettable experience, Myerscough student athletes headed to Levice, Slovakia, where they beat USK Prague, while also enjoying games against SVK Selection, College Basket and SBK Junior Levice, to finish in sixth place out of the teams that were invited to the 2023 SuperFinal, and the 46 teams that competed across both EYBL North and South Leagues.

Across each of the three seasons Myerscough has competed overseas it has successfully made the post-season SuperFinal by securing three-straight top four finishes, including becoming the first British basketball at any level to win a season-long European competition when it was crowned 2019-20 regular season champions. 

Myerscough has amassed an impressive 37-9 regular season record with a 38-12 mark overall since its EYBL debut back in 2018. 

The EYBL is one of the premier FIBA competitions for juniors and features renowned teams from across the continent, with Myerscough joining the Under-20 ‘Euroleague’ format tournament. The competition is held over three weekends, with teams playing five games in each stage. The U20 league table comprises of teams from different countries across the continent.
